DISARMAMENT MEETING.
PROPOSED ABANDONMENT. LEAGUE STRONGLY OBJECTS. (Received September 11, 7.45 p.m.) GENEVA, Sept. 10. Thunderous applause greeted Viscount Cecil's declaration at, the Assembly of the League of Nations, that "No Government, least of all the British Government, can tolerate for a moment the proposal to abandon the forthcoming Disarmament Conference." Lord Cecil strongly supported Signor Grandi's proposal for an armaments truce.
