LIGHT-WEIGHT BOXING. CANZONERI DEFEATS BERG. (Received September 11, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 10. Tony Canzoneri, who defended his light-weight title against Kid Berg, of England, won the match on points in 15 rounds. Canzoneri excelled throughout in boxing ability. Berg, however, demonstrated his extraordinary gameness and stamina. He refused to withdraw from attack for a moment in spite of the champion's vicious left hooks. In a highly exciting eighth round Canzoneri struck Berg with an obviously low left. Berg dropped in agony and took a count of eight. He then rose and continued the battle and won an ovation from the crowd. Under the usual rules the championship would have changed hands at- that point, but a recent ruling by the local officials disallows the recognition of a low blow as a foul. WIN FOR TOM HEENEY.
