On a charge of assaulting Sergeant Hyland and also of lawlessness and disorderly behaviour during the Communist procession on August 1, Da\id Geoige McGifford, aged 23, was to-day sentenced by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to one month's imprisonment on the first two charges, and was fined £2, in default 14 days' imprisonment, on the third charge. The magistrate said the man was not levelheaded, but he must be taught a lesson.
