Beet Sugar.—September, 5s Bid. THE CITY MARKETS. YESTERDAY'S AUCTIONS. FURTHER DROP FOR EGGS. Large quantities of apples sold at very low rates at the Auckland City Markets yesterday. Island tomatoes also realised low values, while passions, lemons and Poorman oranges were very dull of sale. Heavy stocks of oranges were disposed of at cheap prices. There was a decreased demand for pears. Ripe bananas were exceptionally cheap. Potatoes, onions and celery were in heavy supply, while there were good stocks of cabbage, cauliflower, kumara and all other vegetables in season. A fair demand existed for most classes. All grades of hen and duck eggs have further decreased in value. Special grade eggs brought Is a dozen. Plentiful supplies met with a dull demand. Farmers' butter continued to sell readily at the unaltered rate of lid to Is. Id a lb. Prices for average quality lines were as follows: —■ FRUIT.
