Whiteombe's Home Cookery and Electrical Guide is a book that should be of special value in 3 country that uses so much electrical power as New Zealand. In addition to giving a great variety of recipes for the cook who uses the electric range, mnch valuable information is given as to electricity for general use in the home, such as for lighting, with as well the adjuncts that influence its distribution and reflection and the points that should be considered when lighting the different rooms. As many people are beginning to realise, lighting is not the simple thing that they have hitherto thought it, but instead a, matter that calls for much careful thought and arrangement. There are sub-chapters devoted to water heating, washing, cleaning, the care of the electric iron, the refrigerator and most valuable of all to the cook, the care and economical u:e of an electric range.
