KNITTING AND CROCHET.
Within the past year or so Australia has been swept by the knitting craze 4 ,and it now seems as though New Zealand is going to fall a victim to the cult as well. To meet it a very comprehensive book, "The Weekly Times Book of Patterns," has been published by the Weekly Times, of Melbourne. Every woman who takes up either knitting or crocheting will find .> this book most helpful, whether she be a beginner or one well versed in the art. For the former, instructions are given in both knitting and crocheting, followed by "do's and don'ts," which even the most experienced worker will find useful. There is a variety of patterns given (with instructions for carrying them out) such as the making of berets, babies' bonnets, coats, men's golf stockings and scarves, cardigans, jumpers, shawls and so on. All kinds of stitches are given, and in addition information as to the best methods to be followed in washing many of the articles.
