FORGERY ADMITTED.

MOTOR-DRIVER'S OFFENCE, DATE ON LICENCE ALTERED. A charge of forgery was preferred against Harold John Crimmins, aged 30, fruiterer (Mr. Singer), in the Police Court yesterday; Evidence was given that on June 18 accused drove a motor-truck along Karangahape Road without being in possession of a driver's licence. The following day he obtained a licence, but altered the date from June 19 to June 10 by erasing part of the figure 9. " He later went to thii Newton police station and informed a constable that he could not have driven without a licence on June 18 as his licence was issued on June 10. The constable saw the licence had J)een tampered with and accused was charged with forgery. The presiding justices. Messrs. A. J. Stratford and H. T. King, committed Crimmins, who pleaded guilty, to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail of £lO was allowed.
