TO-DAY'S PUBLICATION. SPLENDID PICTORIAL PAGES. WEALTH OF ILLUSTRATIONS. An extremely attractive and highlyinteresting selection of up-to-date pictorial subjects is reproduced to perfection in the current issue of tho Auckland Weekly News, which is on sale to-day. "News by photography" is the keynote of the large illustrated section and the high standard Of general excellence attained is certain to make a strong appeal to all sections of the large circle of readers. Last week's great snowstorm in the Canterbury midlands is oxtensively illustrated with a very comprehensive series of photographs depicting outstanding incidents in a most interesting manner. The centre double page, which is particularly striking, shows photographs secured during a train journey from Christchurch to Arthur's Pass, wliero tlie heaviest snow fall for 18 years was experienced. The attractive frontispiece records other aspects of the snowstorm at Arthur's Pass, where winter sports enthusiasts took advantage of the conditions to enjoy fine ski-ing. The Wellington Racing Club's Annual Winter Meeting, which opened at Trentham on Saturday, is attractively illustrated with snapshots secured on track and lawn. A full page is devoted to last Saturday's Hawko's Bay-Auckland Rugby football match in earthquakestricken Napier. There is a wealth of illustrations which will bo of particular interest to lady readers. A series of splendid portraits of New Zealanders presented to Their Majesties the King and Queen at this season's Courts at Buckingham Palace is reproduced on a full page. Other pages show weddings of interest at home and abroad and women's activities in many spheres. Scenes among the rabbit trappers in the Waikato district make an interesting photographic record of this industry, which has provided work for some of the unemployed and at the same time is helping to eradicate tho rabbit post. In view of the prominence given to building construction, especially in connection with reconstruction after the recent Hawke's Bay earthquake, a full page of photographs of some of tho latest buildings erected in London and Manchester is sure to be examined with great interest. In addition to the splendid illustrations enumerated above, the issue contains an infinite variety of miscellaneous news, scenic and travel pictures secured in many parts of the world.
