LATE MRS. R. J. SEDDON.
FUNERAL AT WELLINGTON.
REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDANCE

There was a large and representative attendance of citizens at the funeral of the late Mrs. R. J. Seddon, which took place this morning. A short service was conducted by Canon Bean, of Christcburch. deceased's son-in-law, at the residence. Golders Hill. The service in the cathedral was conducted by Bishop Sprott, assisted by Archdeacon A. M,Johnson. The principal mourners were the members of the family and the pallbearers were Messrs. R. J. S. Bean, W. Hennab. W. Edwards, P. Edwards, James Kerr and Sir Cyril Ward. Among those present were the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes; Messrs. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways; S. G. Smith, Minister of Labour; H. Atrnore, Minister of Education; Sir Michael Myers, Chief Justice; the Right Hon. J. G. Coatos, Leader of the Opposition; Mr. 11. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party; Sir William Hall Jones, M.L.C.; Sir Henry BuCkleton, Sir • Harold Beauchamp. Mr. Downie Stewart, M.P., Sir John Luke and Mr, Justice Kennedy. Numerous of sympathy were received from all parts of the Dominion Tho relatives of the late Mr. Charles Parata, an old friend of the family, expressed a desire to' show their affection and placed a kiwi Maori mat at the footof the coffin. At the conclusion ,of tho service the casket was placed in the faniily vault in the Sydney Street Cemetery, alongside the casket containing the remains of Mrs. Seddon's distinguished husband, the late Richard John Seddon.
