UTILITY AND GAME BIRDS.

HIGH STANDARD OF DUCKS. AWARDS OF THE JUDGES. Great interest was taken in the second portion of the Auckland 'Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club's show, which was opened in the primary produce section of the Winter Show yesterday. The exhibits on display during tho first days, canaries and pigeons, gave place to game birds, utility poultry and ducks, which were judged yesterday morning. 0 Although the entries of game birds showed a decrease compared with tho exhibits of last year the standard did not fall, tho quality being maintained in practically all tho classes. Competition was close in the particularly among the Orpingtons, which drew large entries. 1 Tho standard of tho Leghorns was only medium 011 tho average, but three very fine birds were exhibited by Mr, B. R. Arnotb in the breeding pen class. The winners of the duck sections were all good birds, tho most outstanding exj hibit being a white runner duck exhibited by Miss S.
