GREAT OVATION GIVEN.
(Rec-.ived June 17. 7.15 p.m.) British Wiieless. RUGBY, June 16 King George and Queen Mary, who were accompanied by other members of the Royal Family, received a tremendous ovation when they drove from Windsor Castle to Ascot racecourse to-day in the customary calvacade, with scarlet-clad postillions and outriders.
Beautiful weather favoured the first day of the meeting.
The result of the chief event, the Ascot States, is published on the racing page to-dry.
