OBITUARY.

MR. W. R. ELLINGHAM

The death occurred at a private hospital late on Tuesday evening of Mr. William Ray Ellingham, managing director of E. Ellingham and Company, Limited, merchants, Customs Street East, aged 54 years. Mr. Ellingham underwent an operation last week and matters subsequently took an unfavourable turn. He was born in Auckland in 1877, and 28 years ago Succeeded to the management of the business upon the death of his father, the late Mr. Edmund Ellingham, who had founded it more than 60 years ago. The late Mr. Ellingham was a member of the Wholesale Merchants' Association and an ex-member of the executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. He was also a consistent worker in church and kindred institutions, lie was a deacon of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle and secretary to the Board of Trustees, a member of tho board of the Manurewa Children's Home, chairman of the finance committee of tho New Zealand Baptist Union, and one of the vice-presidents of the Auckland Y.M.C.A. He married a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Rountree and is survived by his widow and a son and daughter. There will be a servico at the Baptist Tabernacle at 2.30 p.m. to-day, after which the funeral will leave for Hillsborough Cemetery.
