SPLENDID . PICTORIAL SECTION. MANY TOPICAL FEATURES. In the current issue of the Auckland Weekly News, published to-day, the large illustrated section will make a very wide appeal. Readers are provided with a remarkably fine selection of up-to-date pictures recording events and occasions' of public interest from far and near. "Progressive and Picturesque Wellington" is the title of the centre doublepage feature, in which are reproduced some splendid new views secured in and around the capital city. Ihe pictorial l>eauty of Wellington is made strikingly apparent by this series, which includes many excellent general views. The opening : matches of the New Zoar land cricket team in England are extensively illustrated with many fine.photographs showing incidents in the play and other items of interest.

A full page shows incidents of a recent outing on Mount Cook, South Island, by students from the Workers' Educational Institute in Canterbury. Two half-page illustrations are veritable gems of 'the photographer's art. One shows marvellous ice formation on the Tasman Glacier and the other' is a view in the Hollyford Valley, Lake Wakatipu, which is claimed to rival the world-famous Milford. Track, in scenic grandeur. Weddings of interest .at home and abroad and feminine activities in the realm of sport' are some of the subjects which will interest lady readers. Many and varied are the miscellaneous' photographs which complete this very fine number of the world-famous journal. Scenic, news, and travel pictures al'e attractively combined in a manner which worthily upholds the reputation for pictorial excellence the Auckland Weekly News enjoys."
