DOGS WORRYING SHEEP.
PARTY'S LONG CHASE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANOAREI. Monday. Two dogs, which were stated to have been worrying sheep, were killed yesterday, after an exciting chase. From the Grotto Gardens Mr. S. Watt heard leud barking and saw two dogs chasing Mr. I'j. K. Plaistcd's sheep, which were grazing on the Harbour Roard's property. A party consisting of Messrs. Plaisted, IWatt, It. 11, an am ] g guns, gave chase, and one dog was shot. Ihe other, slightly wounded, escaped for i» time, but after a long chase in rough country it was shot. the dogs had killed four sheep before they were found. Recently Mr. Tlaifted lost ten other sheep.
