Improved conditions prevailed for the (second day of the Waikafo Racing Cluli's Winter Electing at Te Rapa yesterday, the weather clearing after rain overnight. Tlio attendance was estimated at about (he same as on Saturday, between 3000 nml 40CO. Considering that there were only two horses in the open hurdle race, thus restricting speculation in that event, ♦he totalisator investments kept up well. The machine handled £7302, compared with £7838 10s on Saturday, making a total for the meeting of £15,140 10s. There was no winter meeting last year. .At the autumn meeting last April the totalisator investments amounted to £36,055 10s, there being 16 races, against 14 at this meeting.
