TO BOTTLE TOMATOES.
Iflace little butter in saucepan, cut firm tomatoes in half, put in pan, sprinklo a little salt and a good sprinklo of pepper. Let all simmer well. Have largemouthed jars hot, and when tomatoes boil nicely fill up jars and screw down well. These are splendid in winter with toast for breakfast, or with steak for dinner, as tomatoes make their own liquid. Done this way, they are not insipid, liko the ones done whole in salt .water.
