INJURED RUGBY PLAYERS.
REPLACEMENT QUESTION. PRESENT CUSTOM TO CONTINUE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. Reversing its previous decision on the question of replacing injured players the New Zealand Rugby Union last evening decided to " adhere to the wishes of delegates to the annual meeting" and continue the present custom. This means that replacements will be allowed as long as the opposing captains agree. Letters were received from Tarartaki, llawke's Bay, Wanganui and Canterbury protesting against the decision to seek a ruling from England and abide hy it. Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman, said a subcommittee had been set up to draft the letter, but at his request the question had been deferred as he felt it would be better if the whole matter were sent to the proposed Rugby Conference.
