THE POWER BOARD CEREMONY.
Sir,—lt is hard to find a parallel where so little courtesy was displayed by one Minister to another as was shown by the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy to the Hon. Mr. Donald, when the Power Board ceremony was performed. That Mr. Stallworthy holds the record for train travelling no one will contradict. lie left Auckland on Wednesday night and arrived in Wellington on Thursday morning, He left that same night and arrived in Auckland on Friday morning to perform the ceremony, on behalf of the Minister of Public Works. Of course, we know that ho will say he was asked to do so, but it would have been an act of courtesy to have left it to the Hon. Mr. Donald, knowing that, lie was in Auckland at the time, and further, that tho building was in tho Minister's electorate. I make bold to say that tho Postmaster-General has never "butted" in to any other member's area to do any act that the member is capable of doing. The public generally know that while Mr. Donald is not given to the limelight and performing a lot of political window-dressing, he is a man who is doing his job effectively with credit to himself and to the satisfaction of the great majority of the of the Dominion. For the future it would bo well for the Minister of Health to learn where certain ceremonies are to take place and ascertain whoso electorate is concerned. Perhaps we will find him opening tho Symonds Street post office on behalf of the Postmaster-General, at the Prime Minister's special request. Acts of courtesy make life a littlo brighter. Electric Shock.
