CHANCE TO RESUME WORK.

MEN TO MEET ENGINEERS
[by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. In a statement to-day, Mr. W. 11. Field, M.P., said he had had several interviews with the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, in connection with the Tawa Flat tunnel workers, and that Mr. Forbes had decided to defer the date fixed for tho resumption of work until Thursday, the men to hold a conference on Monday with Public Works Department engineers and state their case. MEN ON STRATFORD LINE. HOPES FOR RETURN TO WORK. [RY TELEGRAPH. — TRESS ASSOCIATION.] STRATFORD. Saturday. It. is understood that as a result of negotiations between railway construction workers at Tangarakau and the Public Works Department, the ultimatum to the men to resume work by Monday has been lifted for a few days. It is considered that work w.ll be resumed on Friday on the Stratford line.
