It is just as well for owners who race their horses at Addington that the -old system of handicapping on the time registered is not now in vogue, otherwise a largo number of pacers and trotters would not be worth much as racing propositions. On certain days at Addington both (ho track and the atmosphere uppear to be charged with electricity, and Wednesday's performances afforded another striking illustration of wonderful time improvements. Under (he fast, conditions prevailing a number of horses have already Qualified for the next New Zealand Cup, 4.26 limit, many of them still being on much looser marks and having no chance in cun company. Dillon Logan is a case in point. Ho won tho Hawera Cup off 4.38, and on Wednesday won at Addington of! 4.35. going 4.23. Dillon Logan has easily qualified for the cup. but it handicapped for Uie next outing on 4.33.
