WHAT WOMEN CAN DO. New Zealand goods were not boiup pushed by tlio retailers as they should bo pushed, said the Minister of Labour, I (on. ii. G. Smith, when speaking nt Papatontoe in the course of the Hauraki by-election campaign. Mr. Smith said that if New Zealand manufacturers receivod orders in sufficient lumbers tliey could produce articles as cheaply as any other countries could produce them. There was, however, a prejudice against New Zealand goods. If every woman made up her mind that she would buy New Zealand goods, and ii: the amount so spent were increased by £2,000.000, it would benefit the whole country to the point of solving many of its problems.
