ADDITIONAL CLUBS ELECTED. CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE-MONEY. It was reported ut the monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association that K1 new clubs had been elected during the present financial year. The following additional clubs were elected members of (lie association: Cromwell Club, rulnierwton North ( 'h'b. Shannon Club. Woodvillc Club. Maraenui Club (Napier). The recommendations of a subcommittee regarding prize-money for the 193 L championship meeting were considered, and it was resolved to increase the prize-money allocated to professionals by £75, bringing it up to £305. The professionals' championship foursomes (K. C. Kirk Cup), which np to this year has carried no money prize. ■ now carries .£lO to each of the winners and £5 to each of the runners-up.' In the chief event of the tournament, tho open championship of New Zealand, the prize-money for the first six places, if won by professionals, is us follows: —-.L'4o, £25, £ls, £lO, £lO, £5. "• , . It was reported that a large number of clubs had voted or. the question of tho association granting £IOO toward tho. earthquake relief fund and were almost unanimous in favour of the proposal. Fifteen clubs hod up to the present returned subscription lists and a large number still had lists posted at their club-houses. The committee appointed to advise the council as to the losses suffered by the clubs in Hawke's Bay is as follows: —Mr. F. C. Fryer. captain of (he Napier Golf Club; Mr E A. Murley, secretary of the Hastings Golf Club; and Mr. C. O. Carrell, chairman of the Pnrkvalc Golf Club. The secretary reported that both the travelling professionals will be available for further engagements shortly and ho whs instructed to notify all affiliated cluba accordingly . Forthcoming tournaments advised to t.lie association since last meeting are as follows: —Waipawu Club, open tournament, August 20 and '27; Takapau Club, annual tournament, August 28 and 20; llarewood Club. North Canterbury amateur championship tournament, August '2O and 30; Poverty Bay Club, open tournament., September 1, '2, 3 and 4; Wliangarei Club, North Auckland amateur championship tournament, September 3, I and 5; Tauranga Club, Bay of Plenty tournament. The programme comprised a, handicap bogey match in tho morning, and u handicap medal match in the afternoon. A special prize for tho best gross score over the two rounds was won by H. Levey (Otahuhu), 156. He established a course record by returning a card of 73 for one round. The best cards returned in the events were as follows (gross aggregate) :—Levey, 156: W. B. Ex'-ellent conditions prevailed at St. Allchews links to-day, when the Winter Show Cup competition, promoted by the Hamilton Golf Club, was played. The entries totalled jot, 4U local players and 62 visitors competing. The weather was good, although the loggy conditions early thi3 morning made the greens heavy for a start. Tho links geneially were in first-class order. Capable organisation assisted to make the day u very enjoyable one. Tho morning medal handicap was won by C H. Murphy (To Arohal, with a net score of 08. Second place was filled by W. Cann (Hamilton), 70, and thud place by 15. lladoly (Morrinsvillo). 71. The afternoon bogey handicap ivas won by J.
