DERBY SWEEPSTAKE.
NEW ZEALAND WINNERS. THREE PRIZES OF £IOO. LONDON. June 1. Prizes of £IOO in the Irish hospital sweepstake on the Derby have been won by G. Flint, 73, Hopper Street, Wellington, J. Thurston, Taoroa Road, Taihape, and K. Pearce, o! Bennett Street, Christchurch. There are still 1900 cash prizes to be drawn. Carmclus and Spanish Main have bejn scratched from the Derby. In connection with the drawing of a horse in the Irish Free State sweepstakes by a Wanganui syndicate, it. is understood that the number of persons interested in the syndicate is about 40. In the event of the horse mentioned being the winner, their share of the money is expected to be about £750 apiece, while whether the horse starts or not the syndicate will share £BOO.
