POSTMASTER ARRESTED.

THEFT OF £SO ALLEGED, PLACED IN CUSTODY. On a charge of stealing moneys from the Postal Department, William Robert Holmes, the postmaster at the Mount Eden office, was arrested by Detective Snedden late yesterday afternoon. Ho was taken to the central polica station and was formally charged: "That, on or about April 6, 1931, at Auckland, being a postal official, ho did steal the ' sum of £SO, the property of the Post-master-General of New Zealand." ' Holmes was then placed in custody. He will appear in the Police Court this morning- _______
