OBITUARY.
DUKE OF SOMERSET. LONDON, May 6. The death has occurred of the Duke of Somerset. His age was 71. The 16th Duke of Somerset, Edward Hamilton Seymour, was born in' 1860, his father being the late Rev. Francis Payne Sevinour. He succeeded his cousin, the 15th Duke in 1923. He was at Blundell's School, Tiverton, and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and entered the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in 1880. The late Duke held various posts at the War Oflice, and in tho war was Deputy-Direc-tor of Equipment. He retired in 1920. The Duke married in 1881 Miss Rowcna Wall, of Ceylon, and they had one son, Lieutenant-Colonel Lord Evelyn Seymour, who succeeds to the title. He was boin in Ceylon in 1882, and was at Sandhurst. He served in the South African War and in the Great War.
MR. W. CAMERON. SYDNEY, May 7. The death has occurred of Mr, William Cameron, who had been Nationalist member of the Legislative Assembly since 1918. He represented the Upper Hunter electorate.
