ROAD BOARD MEMBERS.
PANMURE TOWNSHIP. POLLING TAKES PLACE TO-DAY. The election of the Panmure Township Road Board will be held to-day. For the five vacancies, the following seven nominations have been received:'—Messrs. J. Allen, W. G. Brown, J. A. C. Fleming, W. Malone, T. May, J. Patterson and G. Turton. Messrs. Allen, Brown, Malone and Patterson were members of the board last year. Three candidates, Messrs. Fleming, Malone and Turton comprise the Panmure Association's ticket.
OSTEND ANNUAL REPORT. RE-ELECTION OF BOARD. The annual report of the Ostend Road Board, presented at the annual meeting of ratepayers of the district, disclosed that the year had been one of steady progress. The state of the roads had been considerably improved as a result of a lal-ge amount of metalling having been done, the report stated. The necessary repairs to the Ostend Wharf had been carried out, the structure now being in quite good condition. A decided improvement was shown in the financial position of the board, every effort having been made to reduce expenditure to a minimum where it was consistent with efficiency. The, three retiring members, Messrs. E. Griffiths, G. R. McGrevy and H. W. Williams, were returned unopposed.
