Mr Jack of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. B Owen and Mr. W. B. Me Kenzie, of 'Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. Angell, of Christchurch, and Mr. 1). Merle, of Picton, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. F. Sherriff, of Gisborne, and Mi J. Morrison, of Matapouri, are at tin Central Hotel. Mr. T. Geddis, managing-director < the Napier Daily Telegraph, arrived i. Auckland yesterday. ■ Mr. W. C. Denham has been recom mended by tho Labour Representation Council as tho party's candidate for the Invercargill scat. Dr. W. G. Bridgman, of Papakura, ha 1 left for England, where he proposes t< continue his studies. He expects to be absent from New Zealand for at least :i year. Mr. D. Robertson, Public Service Com missioner in Wellington between 1913 and 1920, arrived in Wellington this week by tho Maunganui after six years in Europe. Mr. John Fuller, director of Fullers. Limited, arrived from Wellington yesterday and will leave for Sydney by the Maunganui to-day. He is at the Grand j Hotel. | ; Mr. T. Bloodworfh, secretary of the j Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, left last evening for Wellington to attend tho sitting of the Arbitration Court. Mr. C. Constance, of Christchurch, the New Zealand yachtsman, who. was » member of the crew of the yacht Oimarn in the race across the Tasman Sea, re- ; turned to Wellington from Sydney this ! week. j ' Captain J. R. Stringer, harbourmaster at Sydney, who has been visiting. New Zealand, will return to Australia by the Maunganui to-day. Ho was for many years with the Union Steam Ship Company, Limited. The Rev. A. Liversedge, who has jest returned from a trip to England, will commence his ministry nfc the Thames Methodist Church on Sunday. Formerly he was stationed in Addington, Christchurch. Sir Edwin Mitchelson, N.L.C., who underwent an operation in a private hospital in Wellington last week, is making rapid progress toward recovery. It is not yet known, however, when he will bo able to return to Auckland. Dr. C. A. Jarman, city organist of Launceston, Tasmania, and -well-known adjudicator in music, arrived at Wellington from Sydney on the Maunganui. lie is going to Christchurch, where ho will adjudicate again for the competitions in that city. Dr. Jarman has been selected also as chief adjudicator for the great National Competitions of Australia at Ballarat this year, and also at Adelaide.
