EVENING AT OTAHUHU.
The new vicar of (he Holy Trinity Church. Otahuhu, the Rev. R. J. Stanton, and the curate, the Rev. B. C. Palmer, were accorded a welcome at an evening held in the Parish Hall on Tuesday. The Rev. H. K. Archdnll. headmaster of King's College, presided over a large, attendance of parishioners and friends. In his remarks the chairman said the success of any vicar lay in the extent to which the members of the, church were prepared also to be missionaries and promote the work by loval co-operation. >Mr C. B. Pearson, parishioners' warden, tendered a hearty welcome to Mr. Stanton. The' Rev. W. Gatman, of the Methodist Church, said the vicar could rely on the assistance of other churches in Otahuhu ;n nil forward movements. Mr. Stanton replied, and thanks were also returned by Mrs. Stanton and Mr Talmcr. The evening was continued witn musical items, songs being given by Mrs. G. -Wfebber, Messrs. L. Hubbard, K. Scott and F. Craft, and an elocutionary item by Mr. H. Andrew. Refreshments wore served bv a committee of ladies.
