DANCE IN AID OF FUNDS. • AN INDIVIDUAL EFFORT. Shaded lights, which reflected their ever-changing colours on many charming frticks, made an attractive scene at the Peter Pan Cabaret Inst evening when a dance was .organised by Mrs. Hugh Fenton to assist the funds of the Auckland Girl Guides' Association. Graceful palms and bowls of chrysanthemums lent an added attraction to the decorations, which were offset, by tall standard lamps reflecting blue and rose lights through th6ir silken covers. To receive her guests Mrs. Fenton wore a frock of sapphireblue fische net with a bodice of gold lace attached to the skirt in four deep points. Among those present were:—The Countess of Orford, who wore a frock of honeycomb satin beaute, the bodice draped and caught in front with a jewelled clasp; Mrs. W. R. Wilson, in a frock ot black satin beaute; Mrs. 11. M. Tolhurst, black georgette embroidered in crystal beads; Mrs. Wills McLaughlin, ficelle ring velvet; Mrs. .T, B.
