ROTORUA YOUTH MISSING.
EMPTY CANOE FOUND. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT. J ROTORUA. Wednesday. Anxiety is felt, for the safety of a youth, Robert Mathias, aged 19, who went out in a small canoe on Sunday afternoon and has not been seen since. When he did not return on Sunday no alarm was felt as he ofteu stayed away a day or two, but yesterday it was decided to search for him. Mr. T. Johnson and a party in boats found his canoe and tho paddlo floating near To Ngae. The party then visited Mokoia Island to make a search, thinking tho youth might have reached the island exhausted.
