KEEPING OF ACCOUNTS. A SUGGESTED DISCUSSION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, "Wednesday. Replying to a letter from the New Zealand Farmers' Union regarding the. increased book-keeping charges imposed by the associated hanks, tho Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes, said this was to offset the additional amount of the.note tax, which had been incroased from 3to 4j per cent. It was understood the banks did not propose to Uass on (lie additional incorno tax imposed. Nevertheless, Mr. Forbes said he thought tho banks might well ha\o refrained from increasing their charge for keeping accounts, especially at_ present. He suggested the union should discuss the matter with the banks.
