OBITUARY.
MR. T. C. GOTCH. (Received May G, 8.25 p.m.) LONDON. May 6. The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Cooper Gotch, presidont of the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists, aged 76. Mr. Thomas Cooper Gotch was. born in 1854. He studied art in Antwerp, Paris and the Slade School, London, and won various medals. His work, "Destiny," was bought in 1886 for the National Gallery at Adelaide and others of his paintings were purchased by the Corporation of Preston, the Chantrey Bequest, the Bristol Art Gallery and the, Capetown Art Gallery. He was one of -the many art'ists who lived at Newlyn, Cornwall.
