MOCK WEDDING.
A MANNEQUIN PARADE. WELLINGTON FIRM FINED. A case arising out of a recent mock wedding mannequin parade was heard at (he Magistrate's Court in Wellington last week, when the D.I.C. was charged with causing an obstruction to traffic in Lambton Quay. Shortly after 3 o'clock, said prosecuting counsel, a crowd .gathered in front of (he shop, and later some assistants laid a carpet across the footpath. Cars then arrived and the " bride " and " bridegroom " went into the building. A crowd of several hundreds extended out On tho road for a distance of 15 feet, and completely blocked the footpath. Counsel for the defendants said that it was not intended that the form of advertising indulged in should have resulted in a breach of the law. He gave his assurance that it. would not happen again. The magistrate inflicted a fine of £l.
