AN UNSUCCESSFUL VENTURE. SALESMAN BECOMES BANKRUPT. [from que own correspondent.] / HAMILTON. Thursday. The small apparent clefi?iency of £3 was disclosed in the estate of Robert Adam Elliott, salesman, of Hamilton, at an examination into his affairs, held by the official assignee, Mr. V. R. Crowhurst, to-day. No creditors were present. Bankrupt stated his liabilities amounted to £llO, £BO being duo to one firm. He jvalued his assets at £lO7. Bankrupt attributed his present financial position to! tho fact that he was too busy to supervise, the salesmen and carriers employed in connection with the selling and distributing of White Island product if* Hamilton. A large amount of the product was delivered and was not / accounted /for, ,and a substantial loss re- ' suited. .He had no cash to meet purchases and he <was unable to trade with- » out incurring fresh liabilities. The meeting was adjourned. '
