NEW CRICKET COACH.

POSSIBILITY OF AUSTRALIAN. The Auckland Cricket Association recently decided to engage a cricket coach acaiii next season, but, owing to the big expenditure involved in bringing a man from England, it is possible an Australian will be brought here. The management committee of the association left the matter in the hands of a sub-committee, which has taken the initial step 6f opening negotiations with leading authorities in the various Australian States. It does not necessarily follow, however, that a suitable coach will he located in Australia. Past experience in Southern provinces has proved that while the Australian is a great player he is not a first-class coach.
