DOCTORS' FEES.
Sir,—l heartily endorse 'ho rannrks of "A.IV' in Monday's lleralu. The medical fraternity linvo been very kind and considerate in their charges to my wife and myself. As I have been under the care of doctors and nurses, 1 can speak with experience of their kindness and attention, to and 1 shall always remember them with my deepest platitude. 1. A. Gabbett.
Sir, —I quite agree with the substance of " Patient's" letter in your issue of last Saturday. With this one exception —that the specialists' fee of 21s does not seem so much out of reason as the U.l'.'s iiicxorablo charge of 10s 6d for tho smallest medical service. 'lho question is of the first importance to Now Zealand, as there is no doubt that many thousands of people, old and young, arc going about in urgent need of the medical attention they dare not invoke because of high fees. The doctors, I tako it, are part of our social system and as such should fit into it by lowering their fees in sympathy with depression and hard times. Incidentally, lam convinced that increased " business" would more than compensate them for a diminished scale of fees. In any case, tho Dominion needs health at a fair price and at present high fees stand in the way. Use of the Crowd.
