STRIKE AT CAPETOWN.
TRAM AND BUS MEN. VEHICLES TAMPERED WITH. (Received April •G, 11.5 p.m.) CAPETOWN. April G. A strike of tram and bus employees has dislocated the Easter transport at Capetown. The tramway company recently absorbed tho opposition bus run to Sea Point and appointed Mr. Hughes, the former owner of the buses, as manager. The Sea Point section of the men refused to join the tramway union and struck at midnight.
The police guarded all garages, but some of the strikers succeeded in getting through a skylight at the headquarters depot. They removed all the essential parts of the buses and deflated all the tyres.
It is raining to-day but tho full effect of the strike will not be felt until tho resumption of business to-morrow.
