The Irish Free State hospitals' sweepstake on the Grand National closed at midnight. It is reported that the subscriptions total about £2,000,000, of which 25 per cent, will go to the hospitals and the balance will be devoted to prize money and expenses. The draw is to take place on Tuesday and the raca is to be run on the following Friday.
