NEW BUILDINGS OPENED.
CEREMONY AT HERETAUNGA

In the presence of about 4000 people the Governor-General, Lord Blcdisloe, this afternoon opened the new St. Patrick's Collego at Heretaunga. There was a representative gathering present, including Archbishop O'Shea and Archbishop Redwood, the Primo Minister, the Rt. Hon| G. W. Forbes, and other Ministers, tho Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, and other Judges, the Director of Education, Mr. T. B. Strong, and the heads of various other educational institutions.
Father Dowling welcomed the guests. Archbishop Redwood, who presided, gavo a message of thanks and loyalty to Lord Blcdisloe, who congratulated the Marist Brothers upon their achievement, and expressed his admiration for tho school buildings and equipment. The new school stands on several acres of ground i'i pleasant, tree-studded fields, backed by bush-clad hills. Tho building, a two-storey brick structure, contains (lie latest requirements for a secondary school. It is equipped and furnished on the most, modern lines. Tho cost of tlio building was £76,000. The wholo cost, including the" land, was £IOO.OOO. A chapel is still to be erected from funds raised by the old boys.
