ST. PETER'S, HAMILTON.
[from our own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Sunday,
A Masonic scrvico was held in St. Peter's Cathedral this afternoon. There was a largo attendance of members of Masonic lodges from all parts of tho Waikato.
Archdeacon G. G. Bell conducted the service, and Mr. C. L. MacDiarmid, assistant-provincial grand master, read the lesson. A solo was sung by Mr. G. A. Wheeler to tho accompaniment of the organ played by Mr. S. B. Sims. Bishop Cherrington preached a sermon in which ho enjoined tho members of the Masonic fraternity to carry the ideals of their organisation into tho world and to protnulgato the ethics and conduct taught by Christ. A collection was taken up for tho Waikato diocesan orphanago fund. Special hymns were sung, and tho service was most impressive.
