RAILWAY AUDIT BRANCH.
■ INSPECTOR TO RETIRE. The senior audit inspector in the North Island for the Railway Department, jjili'. P. G. Taylor, who is at present in Auckland, will retire on superannuation ne>;t week. He has served 40 years with the department, which lie joined .as a cadet. He was first stationed in Dunedin :nnd later served in most parts of tho Dominion. Be was appointed stationmaster at Otiia just, before the war. and subsequently held similar positions'on the West Coast ard it: Hawke's Bay, being stationmaster at Hastings in 1921, just before his appointment as traffic inspector. In 1922 he wan transferred to the department's audit branch as inspector and during the last three years has been senior audit inspector for the North Island. ' , .
