The question of wages reduction was considered at the conference of the North Auckland Counties' Association on Friday. It was recommended that as far as North Auckland counties wero concerned a reduction of 10 per cent, should be made in wages and salaries. It was decided to request the executive of the New Zealand Counties' Association to convene a special conference at an early date fur the purpose of bringing forcibly beforo Cabinet the urgent need for a national reduction in wages and salaries and the abolition of awards which directly or indirectly operated against cheaper cost of production.

DAIRY COMPANIES' ACTION,

KAIPARA AND WAIPU

A decision to reduce by 5 per cent, all salaries paid by the company, except those governed by awards, has been niado by the directors of the Kaipara Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd Tho board of directors of the Waipu Co operative Dairy Company has decided to reduce the honoraria of directors and the manager's salary by 10 per cent.
