CONCERN FOR EX-SOLDIER.

[BY TELEGRArH. —FRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Friday.

It is reported from Makarora. at the head of Lake Wanaka, that Mr. Bert Thomson, of Alexandra, a returned soldier, left Makarora on December 17 to tramp over the Haast Pass to the West Coast. He has failed to reach populated point on the coast, and it is known that he carried only a small quantity of provisions.
