NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. RESULTS OF YESTERDAY'S PLAY. The annual North Island tournament of the New Zealand Croquet Council opened in Auckland yesterday. Following are the results in the various classes:— Handicap Doubles. —Mesdames Watson and Broughton beat Mesdames Dukes and Carson and Mesdames Finch and White; Mesdamtis Bird and Clarkson beat Miss Brann and Mrs. Chapman; Mesdames Colt man and Coutts beat Mesdames Marjison and Wallace and Mesdames H. Clarke and Collen ; Mrs. Guthrie and Mr. Su-atton beat Mesdames Laurie and McRae and Mesdames White and Lowe; Mesdames Logan and Webber beat Mesdames Fullcrton and Mac Murray; Mesdames A. G. Clarke and Burrctt beat Mesdames Cole and Thompson and Mesdames Webber and Logan; Mesdames Bilks and Roberts beat Mesdames Inglis and McGinley; Mesdames Baker and Schubert beat Mesdames Cibbs and Masters; Mesdames Finch and White beat Mesdames Clarkson and Baird; Mesdames H. White and Lowe beat Mrs. Fearnley and Mr. Gibbs
Championship Doubles.—Mrs. Bruco and Miss Skeet beat Mrs. Davey and Miss K eat ley; Mesdames Fullerton and MacMurray beat Mrs. Masters and Mr. Gibbs. Ladies' Open Singles.—Mrs. Keys beat Mrs. Croxford, Mrs. Hill beat Mrs. Davey, Mrs. Bruce beat Miss Brann, Mrs. Schubert beat Mrs. Mcßae, Mrs. Ihompson beat Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Coutts beat Mrs. Logan, Mrs. Webber beat Mrs. Dukes, Miss Keatley beat Mrs. Brabant. Handicap Singles.—Mrs. Margison beat Mr. Hayden, Mrs. Laurie beat Mrs. Ferguson, Mrs. Day beat Mrs. O'Halloran, Mrs. Thompson beat Mrs. Collin, Mrs. H. Clarke beat Mrs. Buriett. Following is the draw for to-day's play, which will start at 9.30: At Remuera. —Handicap doubles: Mesdames Arey and Harvey v. Mesdames Brighting and Moeller, Mesdames Ferguson and Lambeth v. Mesdames Keys and Hill, Mesdames Colfman and Coutts v. Mr. Guthrio and Mr. Stratton. Championship doubles: Mesdames Laurie and Mcßae v. Mesdames Baker and Schubert.
