QUEENSLAND CRICKET.
the west indies match
POSITION OF GOODWIN
(Receiver! January 8. 11.13 p.m.) BRISBANE. Jan. 8. Although the selectors of the Queensland team to play against the West Indies cricketers omitted Goodwin from the team, he has now been selected to play, owing to another player's being unavailable.
Goodwin was secretary to the committee which the players formed to conduct their dispute with the selectors, and it was suggested that he was dropped from the team as part of a plan by the selectors to discipline the players. Judging on the season's results Goodwin should have been one of the first players selected, as ho secured a good batting average, is an excellent fieldsman and a fair bowler.
