MARCONI INSTALLATION. CONTRACT WITH THE KING. STATIONS AND MOBILE UNITS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received January 8. 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, Jan. 7. King Ibn Saud of Hrdjaz and Nejd has made a contract with the Marconi Company for a system of telegraphic communication. Fifteen wireless stations will link every important centre in his joint kingdom, and four Marconi sets fitted in lorries are also to bo supplied as mobile telegraph stations, which will enable the King to keep in constant touch with his two capitals, Mecca and Riyadh, while on his
desert journeys. In Mecca and at Riyadh, 100 miles away, powerful telephono and telegraph transmitters and modern receivers will be installed and the King will bo able to talk between his two palaces by means of special microphones. A British engineer will supervise tho installation outside Mecca and to provide for its maintenance afterwards tho King has sent four of his subjects for instruction in the Marconi School.
