TONY VICTOR AT MANGERE. ERECTION OF NEW STABLES. W. Lincoln has erected new stables at Mangere in close proximity to the Otahuhu trotting course. No detail has been overlooked in arranging everything for comfort and convenience, while special attention has been paid to light and ventilation. Portion of the building is occupied by Garth Robertson, who also has a share of the grazing facilities. Lincoln is educating three novices, having sent Kingsclera home for a spell, and given up the idea of persevering with the trotter Togo's Promise. A three-year-old filly by The Triumph—Le Merial, is an aristocratic looking youngster who hii3 already displayed encouraging form in her early esanys. A sturdy-looking customer is a green pacer by Peter Moko from Directive, a mare by Van Coronado, while the third one of the party is a well-built son of Worthy Bond from Dillon Patch, a Harold Dillon mare. With . such promising material to work on Lincoln, who is a painstaking trainer, should be beard of later in the season.

Robertson took over Tony Victor from C. S. Donald at the close of the Auckland meeting, and the improved pacer looks none the worse for the racing. Tony Victor is now getting on a difficult mark for two miles events, but can still be held dangerous in ten-furlongs races. . Great Ballin, who had the misfortune to come to grief on the first day at Epsom when racing prominently, is still showing eigns of the fall, and his tasks will be light for some little time. The maiden trotter Dexterity has furnished into a fine-looking colt, but Robertson is not Jiurrying him in bi3 preparation.
