Although a cablegram from Melbourne a few days ago stated that the yacht Oimara was to leave on Saturday for New Zealand and later race, tho New Zealand yacht Restless across tho Tasman, it, would appear from information obtainable from Wellington yachtsmen that Mr. ,T. McLean, owner of the Restless, lias no intention of accepting the challenge. Mr. McLean left with the Restless a short time ago for Marlborough Sounds and intends to stay there until Easter. Ever since a race was suggested Mr. McLean, it is stated, has persistently denied •that he, has made arrangements to participate in it-
