CHILD'S THUMBS CUT OFF.
PULLED INTO HAY GRAB.
ACCIDENT ON A FARM.
[Bl* TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAEROA, Wednesday.
While Mr. Dean was working a hay stacker on his farm at Paeroa last evening with a horse on the whip rope, his daughter, aged seven, caught hold of the rope attached to the hay grab. The horse went forward, and the little girl, being afraid to let the rope go, was hoisted up with the grab, and her two thumbs were pulled into a steel pulley and torn off.
The little sufferer was quickly rescued and taken to the Paeroa Hospital for treatment.
