ACCIDENT AT EGMONT.

FARMER BADLY INJURED.

FALL OF A HEAVY BEAM. [BY TELEGIJA Pit. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] NEW PLYMOUTH. Wednesday. Mr. W. Hurlstone, farmer, of Egmorit Village, met with a serious accident yesterday necessitating his removal to hospital. He was preparing for ensilage making and with a number of his neighbours was erecting a hoist. During the operation one of the guy ropes broke with the result that the gear crashed to the ground. Mr. Hurlstone, in attempting to get cloar of tho hoist, tripped and fell and one of the heavy beams fell across him, fracturing both his legs and causing other severe injuries.
